This tiny lithographic plate is a study for a print that later became Driving Home, which was selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2020. A couple of prints were pulled from this plate as studies. It is similar to, but not the same as the original Driving Home.

Once a print run is finished the plate itself is a reversed image of the prints. It often has marks and textures resulting from the printmaking process, which I particularly like as it adds to the depth of the image. The image is a darl blue-black colour from the oil-based printing ink that was used. Polyester litho is a thin paper-like plate with a coating on one side that resembles a stone surface and which can be printed from using relief ink.

It comes framed in a black photo frame with glass glazing and a stand or hook for hanging (please see photo of back of frame) .

Image size is 7.5 x 7.5cm
Frame size is 25.5 x 25.5cm
